A national platform offering encouragement, resources, education, products, and community for caregivers navigating life one day at a time.
A Caregiver's Cry exists to support, encourage, educate, and advocate for caregivers through storytelling, resources, community, and faith-centered hope.
We believe caregivers deserve to be seen, heard, valued, and supported while caring for others. This is not just a brand — this is a movement.
Jocelyn Marie Small is a caregiver advocate, author, entrepreneur, and Christian R&B artist from Jersey City, New Jersey. She is the founder of A Caregiver's Cry LLC, a faith-centered platform created to support, uplift, and bring visibility to caregivers navigating the emotional realities of caring for children with special needs, aging loved ones, and family members with complex medical needs. Through honest storytelling, advocacy, and community-centered resources, Jocelyn uses her voice to create safe spaces for caregivers who are often overlooked while carrying the weight of everyone else's needs.
Her caregiving journey began at just 23 years old when she became a mother and quickly found herself facing medical challenges no parent is ever truly prepared for. Both of her daughters underwent major surgeries before the age of one. Her daughter Lyric experienced swelling on the brain and required a VP shunt until the age of three, while her daughter Harmony was born with three holes in her heart and underwent open-heart surgery as an infant, followed by multiple surgeries throughout her life. Those experiences reshaped Jocelyn's life, deepened her faith, and became the foundation for the message behind A Caregiver's Cry: that caregivers deserve support too.
Jocelyn is also the self-published author of A Caregiver's Cry: The Reality of Raising Children with Special Needs and continues to expand the brand through journals, devotionals, affirmation products, caregiver support circles, and community outreach initiatives across New Jersey and beyond. Her mission is rooted in advocacy, awareness, emotional healing, and reminding caregivers that strength does not mean suffering in silence.
Beyond advocacy and entrepreneurship, Jocelyn is also a recording artist who performs under the name Jocelyn Marie. Her music blends Christian R&B, soul, hip hop, and Jersey house influences into a sound that is both healing and empowering. Whether through speaking, writing, music, or mentorship, Jocelyn's goal is simple: to help people feel seen, heard, encouraged, and reminded that even in the middle of caregiving, they still matter too.

A Caregiver's Cry gave me words for feelings I had been carrying silently for years. Jocelyn's story made me feel seen for the first time in a long time.
The Beneath the Cape journal helped me reconnect with who I am outside of being a caregiver. Every page felt like a permission slip to care for myself too.
Jocelyn spoke at our caregiver summit and brought every person in the room to tears — the good kind. Her presence and message are unmatchable.
